Optimized Marine Propulsion

New Eagle’s Hybrid Electric Solution is a tri-mode, diesel-electric propulsion system offering a high efficiency alternative to conventional marine propulsion.  Electric mode leverages the high torque of an electric motor for displacement speeds, delivering improvised maneuverability, while reducing noise, emissions, and vibration.  Diesel only mode affords high speed optimization.  Hybrid mode (diesel and electric, combined) offers boosted torque and horsepower, decreasing time to plane.  This also enables downsizing of diesel engine(s), reducing cost and weight.

 

The turnkey solution comes with a built-in Propulsion Control Module (PCM) that allows for a standard interface to control the system.  The software provides custom control of the entry-mode operation, for efficiency optimization with respect to the specific load cycle.  The New Eagle solution accommodates a variety of electric motors, providing greater system flexibility.  The electric motors can also serve as generators, creating unparalleled levels of redundancy, for both electrical generation and “get home” propulsion.

Electric-Only Mode:

  • Output Torque: 250 lb-ft Peak, 118 lb-ft Continuous
  • Output Power: 180 HP Peak, 107 HP Continuous
  • High System Efficiency: >90% at output

Combined Diesel/Electric Mode:

  • Output Torque: 1820 lb-ft Peak
  • Output Power: 760 HP Peak

New Eagle’s Electric Marine solution is an electric propulsion system offering a high efficiency alternative to conventional marine propulsion.  Electric operation leverages the high torque of an electric motor for displacement and planning vessels.  the system reduces noise and vibration, while eliminating emissions and ICE maintenance.  The high torque supplied at low RPM assures piece of mind while docking , and quicker time to plane.

The turnkey solution comes with a built-in Propulsion Control Module (PCM) that allows for a standard interface to control the system.  Incorporating a variable speed generator allows extended range between shore charging at optimal efficiency.  The New Eagle solution accommodates a variety of electric motors from various suppliers, providing system flexibility for a broad range of applications.
