New Eagle March 2010 Mechatronic Control News

Electric Vehicle (EV) Solutions
New Eagle is developing EV control solutions for several clients. How can we work with you to build prototypes or partner to develop a production control solution.

Our applications engineering team has an supervisory controller template that can be used with your combination of battery, motor / inverter, dashboard, DC and AC components, and other vehicle interfaces. We can also help solve those tough CAN networking challenges.

We use the MotoHawk family of ECUs for the supervisory controller, and have a EV integration module to act as the safety processor and I/O extender to the MotoHawk ECM for your unique I/O configuration.

New Products

I/O Extension Module (for EVs)
The VIM-S12-24 Vehicle Integration Module is a flexible I/O controller capable of multiple CAN protocols on 4 CAN channels. It is also a unique complement to a MotoHawk controller in that it provides a watchdog and CAN wake-up function.
The first version will be targeted for Electric Vehicles which need the CAN wake-up, compatibility with the single-wire GMLAN (slow speed), and a safety watchdog processor of the MotoHawk controller.

Kvaser CAN tools
Kvaser develops interfaces and data loggers for CAN bus systems for product R&D or embedded solutions.

New Eagle offers the full range of Kvaser products for both MotoHawk users and other embedded applications. For our MotoHawk customers working around electric machines, we provide galvanic isolated CAN to USB channels to improve performance. View our Kvaser products here.

Kongsberg Vehicle Controller Solutions
New Eagle is offering vehicle multiplexing solutions of Kongsberg Automotoive include Solid-state DC Switching, CAN based I/O, and embedded CANtrak displays.

Please ask for information about our I/O Extension module, Kvaser and Kongsberg products compatible with MotoHawk or for stand alone applications.

Applications Corner
New Eagle is excited to announce the expansion of its application engineering team. We provide control system integration services around vehicle applications including electric / hybrid vehicles, hydraulics, powertrain, and CAN multiplexing solutions.

We also provide support of the MotoHawk line, including product training and tool support, or production hardware and program support.
