Applications Corner - Powertrain Integration (PI) 8.0L Propane Certified Engine
As part of our focus on alternative fuel system products, New Eagle has developed Dedicated Fuel and Bi-Fuel systems for spark ignited engines and mixed fuel for diesel engines.
One application to highlight is the control system for the liquified petroleum gas (lpg) engine for the PI 8.0 liter 8 cylinder engine. The system uses the 8.0L engine with a LPG fuel system from CleanFuels USA. New Eagle provided torque security for electronic throttle control.
The system is required to be OBD compliant for use in vehicles between 14,000-pound to 33,000-pound gross vehicle weight. The first production application is the Freightliner Custom Chassis school bus and medium duty delivery vehicles.
