New Eagle Fall News 2012
Applications Corner
Heavy Duty Hybrid Truck: Zero Emissions Systems (ZES) is working with New Eagle to implement a control strategy for their heavy-duty hybrid retrofit system. New Eagle utilized its hybrid and EV experience to construct a control strategy for safe and robust operation. Within the system, the New Eagle control module handles mode selection, battery maintenance, motor/inverter commands, peripheral control and other decision making without requiring interaction from the user for a conventional driver feel. The seamless transitions between electric and diesel modes allow the user to drive the vehicle normally, so they can focus on the job at hand. In the end the ZES system is designed to improve fleet's operating efficiency by up to 40%.

MotoHawk Update
New Eagle has developed several libraries that interoperate with MotoHawk and provide useful additional features or enhanced convenience.
Enhanced Autodoc: The new MotoHawk Autodoc library is a very useful tool to document a model. It captures a screenshot of every page, creates a separate page for calibration and probe data on each model page, and generates a summary Excel worksheet with all calibration, probe, and fault data.
VeeCAN MotoHawk Display: The VeeCAN MotoHawk Library and corresponding color display application are ideal for developing a display interface using the simplicity of MotoHawk software much like the monochrome MiniView. Save time and effort in your display efforts.
Network Toolbox: The Network Toolbox simplifies CAN messaging development in MotoHawk. Instead of creating M-files in MATLAB to define CAN message, you can just import an industry-standard .dbc file to get useful CAN blocks. This saves development time significantly and reduces complexity.
New to Model-Based Design and Embedded Systems? Investigate MotoHawk, an industry leading integration of the Mathworks Model-Based design suite and a family of rugged controllers, useful for prototype and production.
MotoHawk Training Dates
Our 2012 sessions are now complete. Contact us to learn about sessions for 2013, specialized, or on-site training options. 877.234.1410.
New Eagle will be offering its revised MotoHawk Training Course with tips on how to communicate systems performance in the graphical world of MotoHawk and Simulink/Stateflow. Led by our team of experienced developers provides hands-on MotoHawk Training which enables the new practitioner to fully experience the tool chain by building, deploying, calibrating, and refining a real world control application.
This class is for current and prospective users of MotoHawk and those evaluating the value proposition of model-based embedded systems design.
